جمل واصطلاحات
- أستمر في الحدیث لمدة ساعتین He went on speaking for two hours
- لا یخاف . لم تتحرك لھ شعرة Not to turn a hair
- الصوت الغریب أفزعني The strange noise frightened me
- یطلب ولعة To ask for a light
- انطفأت سیجارتي فھل لدیك ولعة . My cigarette has gone out; Have you a light, please?
- بمفردي ، من غیر مساعدة On my own
قواعد وشرح
1- ترتیب الكلمات في اللغة الانجلیزیة
ترتیب الكلمات في الجمل الإنجلیزیة اقل مرونة مما ھو في اللغات الأخرى ، والترتیب الأساسي الذي یجب إتباعھ ھو : المبتدأ – الخبر – المفعول به .ولا یجب الفصل بین الفعل المتعدي والمفعول بھ ، والطلاب الجانب یقولون :أتكلم الإنجلیزیة بشكل ردیئا جدا ، ویظن المتكلم انھ یقول الحقیقة إنما القاعدة تشدد على عدم فصل الفعل عن المفعول بھ ونجد أحیانا إن المبتدأ والفعل والمفعول بھ متصلین بعضھم ببعض .
أمثلة
- لأحب ذلك النوع من الكومیدیة كثیرا I don’t like that sort of comedy very much
- أخذ رجل البرید كلبھ إلى لندن The postman took his dog to London
- طبع السكرتیر الرسالة بسرعة The secretary typed a letter rapidly
- ھل رأیت الجز دان في أي مكان Have you seen my handbag anywhere?
1- حروف الجر
ھناك فكرة قدیمة إن الجملة اللغة الإنجلیزیة یجب أن لا تنتھي بحرف جر . ولكنھ طبیعي استعمال حرف الجر في نھایة الجملة في الحالات التالیة :-
أ- مع اسم الموصول (That)
He is the man that
- I talked to.
- I chatted with.
- I spoke to
- I pointed at.
- I worked for.
ب – عندما یبدأ السؤال بأداة استفھام .
What
- Are you smiling at?
- Are you laughing at
Who
- Were you talking to
- Were you talking to?
- Were you chatting to?
- Were having lunches with?
ج- عندما تصف عبارة مصدریة الاسم أو الضمیر .

To be so pleased about
There was Nothing
To laugh at
To ask for
To talk about
التعجب
خلافا لحروف الجرالتي تأتي في نھایة الجمل نجد الظروف في الجمل التعجبیة
خلافا لحروف الجرالتي تأتي في نھایة الجمل نجد الظروف في الجمل التعجبیة
تظھر في أول الجملة:-
- ھاھي !
- There it is!
- أدخل!
- In you get!
اذا كان الفاعل لیس ضمیرا فالترتیب یتغیر بحیث یسبق الفعل الفاعل:-
- بعیدا ذھب الباص !
- Away went the bus!
- ھنا الكتاب!
- Here is the book!
لاحظ الترتیب الذي یتبع عندما تبدأ الجملة التعجبیة بكلمة (What)
- What A beautiful day!
- What An extraordinary!
- What A pity
- What Lovely flowers!
اذا بدأت الجملة التعجبیة بكلمة (How) فیجب أن تتلوھا
الصفة أو الظرف:-
- How Strange these English are!
- How Well he speaks!
- How Cold it is
- How Tall you are!
3- المفعول به المباشر وغیر المباشر
عندما یكون المفعولان أسمین فلایھم ایھما یسبق لكن اذا كان المفعولین ضمیرین فمن
المستحسن وضع المفعول بھ المباشر اولا مثل : –
عندما یكون المفعولان أسمین فلایھم ایھما یسبق لكن اذا كان المفعولین ضمیرین فمن
المستحسن وضع المفعول بھ المباشر اولا مثل : –
- أرسل ھدیة لأمه .
- He sent a present to his mother.
- أرسل لأمه ھدیة .
- He sent his mother a present.
اذا كان احدى المفعولین ضمیرا فالأحسن ان نضعھ اولا مثل :-
- أعطاك وصلا .
- He gave you a receipt.
- سألتھ سؤال .
- She asked him a question.
اذا كان المفعولان ضمیرین فالأفضل وضع المغعول بھ المباشر أولا :-
- اعطاه لي أو اعطاھا لي .
- He gave it to me.
- ارسلھ لي أو ارسلھا لي .
- He sent it to me.

- He knows English, French and German thoroughly.

- بالكاد أخطأ الصحن رأس زوجھا
- The plate just missed he husband’s head.
المحادثة
ھري وباربارة جالسان في القطار وفي طریقھما الى لندن .
Barbra: Have you seen my handbag anywhere?
Harry : There it is! You’re almost sitting on it.
Barbra: Oh, thank you! You know, there was so much fuss about the umbrella that I
forgot to declare the presents I bought for peter.
Harry : That’s nothing to be so pleased about! What are you smiling at?
Barbra: Oh, the whole scene was really funny.
Harry: I don’t like that sort of comedy very much. Customs officers aren’t the kind of
people I like chatting with.
Barbra: I thought out man was very polite. I wonder why he took your umbrella away.
But I’m sure he’ll return it. He gave you the receipt, didn’t he?
Harry : Yes, he gave it to me. But
Barbra: My hatbox! Oh, what a fright it gave me! It’s fallen off the luggage rack!
Harry : You’re lucky it just missed that gentleman opposite.
Barbra: I’m very sorry!
Harry : He doesn’t answer!
Barbra: How strange these English are! The hatbox gave me such a scare! But look,
that man just goes on reading his newspaper.
Harry : The English are always phlegmatic and they never speak in trains!
Barbra: Yes, but he didn’t turn a hair!
Harry : Speak to him again.
Barbra: You speak to him.
Harry : Al right! Excuse me, sir, have you a light?
Barbra: You see, he doesn’t answer. How English!
Harry : Excuse me, sir!
Englishman: Eh? What? Speak louder please. I can’t hear you.
Harry : Oh dear! It isn’t just because he’s English, darling! He’s deaf
